You may have seen me post on Twitter etc recently that Blazing Minds is up for an award in the UK Blog Awards 2016 and I’m very excited that the website is nominated again.
Some of you may remember that I won in the Individual Events category last year and brought home an award not just for myself and the blog, but also for North Wales.
It with great pleasure that I can say that Blazing Minds is nominated again for the UK Blog Awards 2016 in the Arts and Culture and Events categories, voting has now started and will go on until the 25th January at 9pm.
It would be pretty awesome if all of you could vote for Blazing Minds and of course tell all your friends to help out by voting for the website as well, the more the merrier.
So today, I took the decision to grab myself my Official Facebook Page, you can see it in the side bar already here on Life’s Challenges.
The decision was made because, I really wanted to keep my personal profile, well, personal and I did want something else for the other public stuff, so hence the Official Karen Woodham Facebook Page!
This will now allow me to post up other stuff that is more for the public view than the personal view, for events that I may be attending that people may be interested in and much more.
Don’t worry the Blazing Minds Page is still going to be the same as it has always been, but this new profile, gives me the chance to post more human that just for Blazing Minds.
So please stop on by and follow the new page, see you there.
What can I say, the other day I had a really tough job to do, a review of an event at the local theatre that was probably one of the strangest jobs that I have done when it comes to reviewing a show, suffice to say, the reviewing went very well and I did get to work with some rather big muscle men. But hey, as I said it’s a tough job and someone had to do it and it was me that had to do it.
So if you would like to learn more about this little event from The ADONIS Cabaret Show (Hollywood Strip) then please, click the image above and check out the article and see some more of the pictures from the evening at the Rhyl Pavilion, don’t worry there aren’t really any rude ones in the article …. Or are there?!!!!
Good morning folks, just a head up on this one, over on Blazing Minds we are running a Giveaway for a copy of Guardians of the Galaxy on DVD and what’s really cool, is there are other Guardians based prizes being added during the contest.
So if you fancy your chances of winning, here’s how you can enter:
Simply stop by Blazing Minds and enter the Guardians of the Galaxy DVD Giveaway, I would have put up the code to enter direct from here, but WordPress didn’t allow it. Good luck everyone and don’t forget, every entry you make, the better the chances of winning.
Good Luck 🙂
Winter returns with another heart warming story and is in UK cinemas on the 3rd October. Inspired by true events, “Dolphin Tale 2” is being filmed at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, the non-profit rescue and rehabilitation facility that Winter calls home.
The film reunites the entire main cast, led by Harry Connick, Jr., Oscar® winner Morgan Freeman(“Million Dollar Baby”), Ashley Judd, Kris Kristofferson, Nathan Gamble, Cozi Zuehlsdorff, Austin Stowell, and, of course, the remarkable dolphin Winter as herself. Charles Martin Smith, who directed “Dolphin Tale,” wrote the sequel and is again at the helm.
Check out the exclusive stills, trailer and more over on Blazing Minds.
Hey everyone please take a moment to vote for this short film on DailyMotion, it’s called Ushers and it’s by a good friend of mine.
So please vote and to ask the social networks you are on.
Hey there everyone, just a quick post today, it’s been a pretty mad weekend with the Rhyl Beach Fest that has taken part in Rhyl, North Wales, but you can find all about it over on Blazing Minds.
Anyway, as I was taking the photos of the event after been given Access All Areas for the day, I managed to get a photo of Britain’s Got Talent finalist James Smith as he finished on the stage and started a meet and greet with fans.
It was an exclusive shot as I was in the right place, right time and armed with the right lens on the camera. The tweet of the picture has got a good deal of RTs and favourites and I put the call out on Facebook to help boost it.
But for those of you who may not be on Facebook and would like to boost the Tweet and photo then please, please RT and Favourite the tweet below, let’s see if we can break over 100 ReTweets with you help.
So thanks for your help everyone, very much appreciated 😉
It certainly seems that Denbighshire Council are looking to kill entertainment in Rhyl and Prestatyn!
Not only have we lost the Sun Centre in Rhyl and the Nova in Prestatyn,, but it now seems that the entertainment killing council wants the Scala Cinema and Arts Centre closed!
Volunteers are being asked to help with keeping the Scala open in Denbighshire.
Three out of the four full time staff have have already been made redundant from the Scala in Prestatyn.
Denbighshire County Council had warned that the running of the Scala had to be more cost-effective for its subsidy to continue.
Job losses were regrettable but they had been left with little option – Chairman Rhiannon Hughes.
Now in my humble point of view and this is just my point of view, it seems that Denbighshire County Council are on a course of destroying any form of entertainment in the district.
With Rhyl getting a lot of bad press lately and the council not really giving a care about anything other than making money, it seems such a shame that yet another place of family fun has a rather bleak looking future under the current council.
It’s no wonder that Rhyl and Prestatyn are becoming a former shell of their former selves. So come on Denbighshire County Council, start to listen to the communities and see what they want and not what your pockets want!!!
