Hoping that 2017 is better than its start!

Yes I know it’s been a while since I posted anything up here, but 2017 was a pretty busy year, not only did my Blazing Minds blog become even more popular, but I also spent a lot more time behind the scenes on projects with the Canned Media production company.

All this film work led to me starting a new blog that is mainly for the work that I do with them and so as it was for me, I have to grab my name as a domain (karenwoodham.co.uk), as you do.

2016 was a rush, with so much going, I’ve had the chance to photograph some amazing people such as Brian Blessed during is stage time at the Sci-Fi Weekender in March, got the chance to have a new Alfa Romeo for the weekend at Wales Comic Con and also got the chance to work with Steve Arnold (Coronation Street, Evicted) and Jonny Dixon (Boy Meets Girl, Evicted).

After all the excitement came to a lull in December and the time that being self-employed is possibly one of the worse things to be during the Christmas holidays. The moment when it all becomes a time of, “no work, no pay” and this is a time that is so hard to get through.

All the bills have all come at once and over Christmas, with no money in the back and none coming in until the end of this week, no food in cupboards and no fuel in the car, it’s a time of the new year that really puts a dampener on the whole, “let’s all get excited for 2017!”.

So all that I am now hoping is that the rest of the year perks up after this rather atrocious lull during Christmas/New Year, yes I will be in work for a couple of days this week, but then it’s another week off after and yes you guessed it, no work = no pay!

Fingers crossed that 2017 is going to be THE year for a steady income. Laters folks.
